Sunflower fields are some of the most cheerful things to look at, and the big yellow crowns of sunflowers just bring me joy!

However, I don’t like cutting flowers, I love them in their natural environment. I’d rather crochet a few to bring all the sunflower happiness into my home.

That’s why I scoured the web to find my favorite free patterns for crochet sunflowers.

1. Ukraine Sunflower

Ukraine is one of the largest producers of sunflower seed in the world, and the sunflower became its national flower.

In these difficult days for Ukraine, crochet sunflowers can be a way for crafters to show solidarity, but also to encourage a little donation in support of Ukrainian people and refugees.

This is the case for this Ukraine Sunflower Amigurumi by Joanna Wojciech, which is a free pattern on Ravelry. However, when you get it, please, remember to make a little donation in support of Ukraine.

You can find a few links to charities in my Heart Square post HERE.
